Brittany Prischak serves as the Deputy Director of the Department of Sustainability. She started with Allegheny County as the Sustainability Manager in September 2019 when the Sustainability Office was still located within the Department of Facilities Management.

Bringing 13 years of experience in sustainability, environmental conservation, and education to her role with the county, she coordinates with county departments to implement sustainable practices throughout our operations. This includes overseeing electric vehicle charging station infrastructure projects and assisting the Public Works Fleet Division in taking advantage of opportunities to use alternative fuels and transition the county to a cleaner fleet.

She also continues supporting the Facilities Management staff with energy efficiency, renewable energy, sustainable materials, and waste diversion related projects. More recently she is working with the Purchasing Division to implement more sustainable purchasing practices within county contracts.

Brittany grew up in West View Borough just outside the city before graduating in 2009 from Mercyhurst University with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Applied Forensic Sciences and moving to Erie, PA in 2010 to start her career as the Sustainability Officer for Mercyhurst. While working for Erie County from 2015-2019 as their Environmental Sustainability Coordinator, she completed her master’s degree in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Sustainability from Mercyhurst University. She also holds LEED Green Associate and Building Operators Level 1 certifications.

She returned to Pittsburgh upon starting with the county and currently resides in Wexford with her husband, Andrew, and their two dogs, Phoenix, and Ox.
