2027 Changes to Medicaid
Major changes to Medicaid (Medical Assistance) are coming on January 1, 2027. Visit the PA Department of Human Services (PA DHS) Medicaid Changes webpage to see what’s new and what actions may need to be taken to retain coverage.
Starting January 1, 2027, some adults between 19-64 will need to renew their Medicaid every six months and prove that they meet new requirements to either work, volunteer, or go to school, in order to keep Medicaid.
These changes do not apply to individuals on Medicare, SSI, SSDI, MAWD, or a Medicaid waiver.
Visit the PA DHS Medicaid webpage for full details on who is affected and who is exempt.
