Immigrants and Internationals Advisory Council

The Immigrants and Internationals Advisory Council (IIAC) advises the Director and executive staff of the Allegheny County Department of Human Services (DHS) to help ensure that services reflect the experiences, priorities, and needs of immigrant and international communities across Allegheny County.

The Council brings together immigrant leaders, service providers, and community stakeholders to identify emerging needs, share lived experience, and provide guidance on how DHS can strengthen culturally responsive and inclusive services.

The IIAC supports DHS by:

  • Advising DHS on the needs of immigrant and international residents
  • Identifying emerging issues affecting immigrant communities
  • Sharing community perspectives and lived experience to inform DHS programs and services
  • Strengthening cultural responsiveness and inclusion in service delivery
  • Supporting communication and engagement between DHS and immigrant communities

Upcoming Meetings

IIAC meets quarterly in January, April, July, and October at 9:00 am. Email Jaron Paul for IIAC meeting details.
