Lola Finds Her Forever Home
Published on November 04, 2025
The TAILS Program at the Allegheny County Jail is celebrating another successful adoption.
Lola, who has been at the ACJ since mid-August, found her forever home when she was adopted last week and left Animal Friends with her new family.
A mixed-breed female, Lola was initially anxious and skittish around people. However, through the work and support of her handlers and several committed jail staff, she began to build confidence in herself and developed greater trust in humans.
Lola is the latest adoptee in the program that began in June as a pilot program between the jail and Animal Friends. Since that time, the jail has seen the adoptions of Ethel/Ellie, Max and Krypto, while Niko/Blaze found his way back to his original home.
