Jennifer Liptak

Jennifer Liptak began her career in county government in 1998 when she accepted a position with the Office of District Attorney, where she ultimately ascended to the position of Finance Manager. In March of 2004, Jennifer joined the Office of County Council as Budget Director and was later appointed Chief of Staff January 2012. In addition to serving as Chief of Staff, in February 2023 Jennifer was designated County Manager. She continued to serve as County Manager, under the leadership of County Executive Sara Innamorato, until June 7, 2024.
Jennifer now serves as the Deputy Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer for the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission. A former adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, Jennifer is a former board member and treasurer of the Allegheny County Airport Authority, and currently serves as a Board Member/Trustee of the following organizations:
- Allegheny County Retirement Board
- Riverlife Board of Directors
- Carnegie Science Center Board
- Port Authority Board of Allegheny County (Vice Chair)
- Government Financial Officers Association
- First Night Advisory Board
Jennifer, a graduate of North Hills High School (1992), attended the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a minor in Political Science (1996). While in Johnstown, Jennifer served as a congressional intern for the late Congressman John P. Murtha, of Pennsylvania's 12th Congressional District. After graduating from Pitt Johnstown, Jennifer attended the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA), earning a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree, and a Professional Certification in Personnel and Labor Relations Management (1998). Later, she attended Duquesne University School of Leadership and Professional Advancement where she received a Professional Certification in Advanced Accounting (2002). Jennifer is a graduate of the F.B.I. Citizens Academy (2016) and the Harvard School of Business Young American Leaders Program (YALP) (2018).
Jennifer, a lifelong resident of Allegheny County, was born and raised on the Northside (Spring Hill) in the city of Pittsburgh, and later moved to West View with her family. Jennifer currently resides in the Glenshaw neighborhood of Shaler Township with her husband Brian, her daughter Caroline, and her son Brenden. She has been actively involved in her community as a former board member and coach for both the Shaler Area Soccer Club and Elementary Basketball Association.
