Police Academy Application

Recruits are strongly encouraged to file an application at least eight weeks prior to the start of a Recruit Class. This ensures ample time for testing, meeting all the requirements, and securing necessary uniforms and equipment in time for the first day of class.

Step 1.Review all Requirements

Basic Training

Step 2.Print and complete all pages of both forms:

Police Training Academy Registration Form

MPOETC Physical Examination Form (To be completed by a physician)

Step 3.Transcripts

Attach or have a high school send directly to the Academy, a copy of the candidate's high school transcript.

Step 4.Letters of Reference

Optional: Candidates may choose to include a character reference from their local Chief of Police.

Step 5.Submit the Application

Mail or hand deliver completed applications (faxed copies will not accepted) to:

The Next Step

Once submitted, applications will be reviewed for minimum qualifications. If initial requirements are met, candidates will be contacted to schedule a physical agility test.
