COVID-19
Although every county department has been involved in some way, the Health Department is the lead agency responding to, and directing response to, the COVID-19 pandemic.
We’re making great strides in the battle against COVID-19, but it remains among us. As more people get vaccinated, we want residents to stay vigilant and continue to practice commonsense health practices like washing our hands regularly and wearing a
mask when appropriate. By continuing to work together, the numbers will continue to decline, and we will continue to move closer to normal.
In addition to this website, additional information relative to COVID is provided through Allegheny Alerts (free subscription required) and the department’s
Facebook, Twitter and
Instagram pages. COVID-19 Updates through Allegheny Alerts are provided Monday through Friday, with the Monday update providing 72 hours worth of data. The county
dashboards are updated on that same schedule. Additionally, public briefings by County Executive Rich Fitzgerald and Health Department Director are held every Wednesday at 4 PM and are streamed live on the county’s social media pages and on the
website.
