Published on December 17, 2024
PITTSBURGH – The Department of Public Works announced today that a Rankin Bridge ramp (Rankin/Braddock exit) between South Braddock Avenue and Kenmawr Avenue/Braddock Avenue in Rankin has reopened to traffic. A lane closure on Kenmawr Avenue between Carrie Furnace Boulevard and Braddock Avenue has also ended. Those restrictions, which began on June 17, 2024, were required as part of the ongoing Braddock Avenue/Kenmawr Avenue ramp replacement project.
The Braddock Avenue/Kenmawr Avenue ramp, Fleet Street between West Braddock Avenue and Maple Way, and Maple Way between Fleet Street and Pattison Avenue have been closed since February 26, 2024, and Line Street has been closed since April 15, 2024 as part of the project. They are expected to reopen later this month.
Mosites Construction Company of Robinson is the primary construction contractor for the $9.3 million project, which is expected to end in fall 2025. The project involves replacement of the Braddock Avenue/Kenmawr Avenue ramp, repairs to a Rankin Bridge ramp, and reconstruction of the Braddock Avenue/Kenmawr Avenue/Talbot Avenue intersection. The work includes new pavement, sidewalk, curb, drainage, barrier and guide rail, traffic signals, roadway lighting, signage, and pavement markings.
