Registration Now Open for Annual Project Prom Event
Free Formalwear to Eligible Teens in Allegheny County
PITTSBURGH – Allegheny County will once again will hold its annual Project Prom event starting on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Through the generosity of donations and participating retailers, Project Prom has hundreds of new and gently used gowns, accessories, and tuxedos, all free for eligible high school students who will be attending prom.
Participating high school students must live in Allegheny County and be receiving services from the Department of Human Services or qualify for a free or reduced school lunch. A student is also eligible if a household member is on active military duty or a veteran.
“Project Prom is always such a fun event for Allegheny County to host. Thank you to the Special Events team that will be making prom magic happen for high school kids in our county who engage with our Department of Human Services, and a special thank you to all the retailers and donors who provide the gowns, tuxedos, and accessories that make the shopping experience so special,” said County Executive Sara Innamorato.
Guests must register in advance for an available timeslot and are asked to bring only one friend or family member to accompany them. The event will take place at the Project Prom Shop, located at 10700 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills, PA 15235.
