Thompson Road in Fawn Reopens to Traffic

PITTSBURGH – The Department of Public Works announced today that Thompson Road between Hemphill Road and Sportsman Club Road in Fawn has reopened to traffic. The closure, which began on November 13, 2023, was required for replacement of Bull Creek Bridge No. 8. The project also included new pavement, guide rail, pavement markings, and signage.
Bull Creek Bridge No. 8 carries an average of 155 vehicles daily. The bridge that was replaced had a condition rating of 4 (poor) condition) on a 0-9 scale based on National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) established by the Federal Highway Administration. The project was done by Pugliano Construction Company, Inc., of Plum as part of a $2.3 million contract that also included replacement of Bull Creek Bridge No. 7.
