Executive Innamorato, Treasurer Brusselars, and County Council Advise of Property Tax Deadline Extension

(PITTSBURGH) – Today County Executive Sara Innamorato, joined by County Treasurer Erica Rocchi Brusselars and members of County Council, advised property owners of extensions to both the upcoming Real Estate Tax Discount deadline as well as the deadline for payments submitted at Face value. The move was codified by Council’s unanimous vote, which was enthusiastically supported by Executive Innamorato and Treasurer Brusselars. It shifts each deadline by 30 days, moving the Discount deadline – at which taxpayers are eligible for a two percent discount – to April 30th, and the Face deadline to May 31st.

County Executive Innamorato said: “I’m pleased we are able to offer taxpayers in Allegheny County this extended discount period for their 2024 property taxes. Thank you to County Council for moving swiftly to pass this legislation and to Treasurer Erica Brusselars for implementing this modification in a timely manner.”

Treasurer Brusselars added that, “we’re here to make lives easier wherever we can. Shifting these dates by a month will not negatively affect the County’s budget or ability to meet its obligations, so allowing more breathing room to our residents is the right thing to do.”

“I am pleased to once again sponsor legislation that was signed into law that provides an additional month for our property owners to pay their tax bill at a discount.  Anything we can do to save county taxpayers money is helpful as the price of just about everything else continues to rise,” said Council President Patrick Catena.
