PITTSBURGH – The Department of Public Works announced today that there will be single-lane closures on the Homestead Grays Bridge in Pittsburgh and Homestead from 9 pm on Fridays to 6 am on Mondays from Friday, October 2 to Monday, November 16. The traffic restrictions are necessary for bridge span, pier, and deck repairs.
The Homestead Grays Bridge is heavily traveled, with more than 40,000 drivers using it daily. Drivers should expect traffic delays in the area and are encouraged to allow extra time to reach their destinations.
Pugliano Construction of Plum is the primary construction contractor for the $902,594 project.
The Homestead Grays Bridge has a bridge condition rating of 5 (fair condition) on a 0-9 scale based on National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) established by the Federal Highway Administration. For more information about bridge condition ratings, visit https://alleghenycounty.us/bridges.
