Swimming and Wave Pools

County pools are closed for the season.
See you next year!

Allegheny County has wave pools in Boyce, Settlers Cabin, and South Parks, and the historic 2 million gallon swimming pool at North Park. The three wave pools feature a water entry ramp at a one-inch depth that increases gradually to deeper water. The pool at North Park provides guests the option to enter the shallow end of the pool via a mechanical lift, and includes access to the zero-depth baby pool and splash pad area, perfect for children and guests of all ages and abilities. Make sure to visit the spray parks in Deer Lakes and Round Hill Parks for even more fun this summer.

Follow Allegheny County Parks on Facebook for updates and information about county pools.

As a reminder for pool patrons, in an effort to increase safety and create a more enjoyable experience for everyone, all county pools have a chaperone policy in effect.

Allegheny County Pools Chaperone Policy

In an effort to increase safety and create a more enjoyable experience for all, all four county pools (at Boyce, North, Settlers Cabin, and South Parks) implemented a chaperone policy, effective July 17, 2024.

  1. Visitors ages 17 and under are required to be accompanied by an adult at least 21 years of age, with valid photo ID. Proof of age will be required for those 18 and older if age is not easily determined.
  2. One parent/guardian, over 21 years of age, may escort all their children. One additional chaperone over 21 years of age may escort no more than four additional youths during any one visit.
  3. Group leaders and/or camp councilors may escort all children they are responsible for. For groups interested in visiting a county pool, please call 412-350-2455 in advance.
  4. Chaperones are responsible for the actions of the escorted youth.
  5. If an escorted youth is banned from the pool, the adult escort and group will be banned for the same period.
  6. Each adult chaperone must be present at the time of entry and remain within the facility for the duration of their party’s visit.
  7. Any person violating the posted rules of behavior will be asked the leave the pool.
