Maple Syrup Making

North Park's Latodami Nature Center has been teaching local people about the art of maple syrup making since 1970. These programs take place in February and March and reveal the joy that can be found in maple syrup!
- The history of maple syrup making
- How to identify and tap maple trees
- How to turn sap into syrup
- What pure, homemade maple syrup tastes like!
Schedule a Private Program
During maple syrup making season, private programs can be scheduled on weekdays for groups of 10 or more. Latodami Private Programs are not scheduled on weekends and are available Monday to Thursdays between 8:00 am to 9:00 pm, and Fridays between 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Great idea for:
- Scouts
- Schools
- Garden Clubs and more!
Maple Syrup Making programs are $5 per person, below age 4 is free. Email Latodami@AlleghenyCounty.us to schedule a private program.
