Public Notice of North Park Dam Rehabilitation
Allegheny County will receive grant funding(PDF, 101KB) to make structural updates to the North Park dam. Public comment is invited on possible alternatives to these actions and methods to protect the facility.

Encompassing 3,089 acres in Hampton, McCandless, and Pine Townships, North Park is the largest park in the Allegheny County Park system. This park offers a diverse range of recreational activities for visitors of all ages, making it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. A highlight of the park is the stunning 66-acre lake and boathouse (built in 1934), which is popular for kayaking and fishing. North Park is also the perfect setting for golf, tennis, ice skating, hiking, and is home to one of the largest swimming pools in the region.

Explore the Latodami Nature Center, which provides guided programs designed to get people out into the natural world and investigate the wide diversity of habitats and wildlife found in the Allegheny County parks and throughout Western PA. Year-round programming is available to the public, as well as schools, scouts, and private groups.
