CDBG Census Information

Census information is required for all Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) applications. Use the following resources to obtain the data.

American Community Survey (ACS)

The ACS is an ongoing survey by the U.S. Census Bureau that provides data every year.

ACS Low/Moderate Income Data by Census Tract/Block Group: FY 2019

In compliance with HUD CPD Notice 14-11, effective July 1, 2014, the American Community Survey Data(PDF, 711KB) must be used by Allegheny County to determine project eligibility under the National Objective of Low/Mod Area (LMA). In addition, this data will help applicants determine if their project is located in a census tract and/or block group that is 51% or above low/moderate income.

All projects require ACS census tract maps, with the exception of administration/planning and studies.

Census Information on Persons with Disabilities

This document records the population and race of persons with disabilities by municipality. The information is required when filling out a pre-application or application for CDBG funding to remove architectural barriers and other projects related to the Americans with Disabilities Act.
