Special Initiatives

Allegheny County Department of Human Services (DHS) supports a variety of special initiatives designed to help children, youth, and families access meaningful opportunities, essential resources, and memorable experiences.

Through the Holiday Project, children and youth involved with the child welfare system receive gifts during the holiday season to help make the holidays brighter and more joyful.

Project Prom gives high school students formalwear, shoes and accessories, supporting young people in celebrating important moments.
