Periodic Lane Closures on East Smithfield Street End

PITTSBURGH – The Department of Public Works announced today that periodic lane closures on the 1100 block of East Smithfield Street in Elizabeth Township have ended earlier than expected. The restrictions, which began on April 9, 2024, were required for drainage improvements.

East Smithfield Street is used by an average of 5,338 drivers daily.

The project was done by A. Folino Construction, Inc., of Oakmont as part of a $5.6 million contract that includes work on eight other roads.
