Since its creation in 1997, Allegheny County Department of Human Services (DHS) has built a national reputation for innovation in human services. DHS’s work is recognized for integrating data across systems, using evidence to guide decision-making, designing services around user experience, and leading collaborative strategies that bring partners together to address complex challenges and better meet the needs of people across Allegheny County.

DHS hosts an ongoing series called the State of Human Services to highlight recent accomplishments and share plans for upcoming initiatives. All are welcome to attend these virtual meetings, including providers, staff, advisory board members, public officials, advocates, and community members.
