Project Prom

Project Prom wall decal in room full of dresses and accessories

Project Prom helps make sure high school students in Allegheny County can attend prom feeling confident, comfortable, and celebrated. Through the generosity of volunteers and local retailers, eligible students can choose prom attire and accessories at no cost.

How Project Prom Works

Each spring, Project Prom creates a welcoming, boutique-style experience where students can try on gowns and find the perfect outfit.

During the event:

  • Students are paired with a volunteer personal shopper
  • Together, they select gowns and accessories
  • Items include new and gently used gowns, shoes, and jewelry
  • All items are free for eligible students

While Project Prom cannot guarantee every student will find their perfect outfit, Project Prom works to offer a wide range of styles and sizes so every student can find something they love.

Project Prom also provides vouchers for free tuxedo rentals. To request a tuxedo voucher, speak with your caseworker or service/supports coordinator tosubmit a request on your behalf.

All gowns, accessories, and tuxedo rentals are provided at no cost to eligible students.

Volunteer Opportunities
