Shane T. Dady, a Deputy Superintendent with the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (DOC), was named Acting Warden of the Allegheny County Jail in September 2023.

Dady has served in a variety of roles with the DOC going back to 1999. His previous work and education had revolved around mental health and therapy, including within the DOC system. He worked his way up through the ranks with assignments including State Correctional Institution Pittsburgh and State Correctional Institution Mercer, where he currently serves.

Dady holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Bethany College. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Prison Wardens Association and also has received a variety of trainings including PREA, Incident Command Systems (ICS), Crisis Intervention Training, Mental Health First Aid, and others.
