Watts Memorial Overlook

Watts Overlook

The Watts Memorial Overlook is a memorial to Michael Watts, a lifelong resident of the area and conservationist. Michael Watts monitored pollution of the Allegheny River and reported problems to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. When he was awarded half of all collected fines by identifying polluters, he returned his share to Allegheny County with the request that they continue his efforts to keep the rivers clean.

About the Overlook

The deck is accessible from the Harrison Hills Park parking lot and is 400 feet above the Allegheny River. This scenic vantage point offers a panoramic view of Butler, Armstrong, and Westmoreland Counties. This area is not available for rentals.
