Workforce

The Early Care and Education (ECE) and Out-of-School Time (OST) workforce efforts center on supporting the corresponding workforce who provide the day-to-day programming for children and youth. DCI envisions an experienced, well-compensated, supported, and qualified ECE and OST workforce and are committed to creating the opportunities and pathways for this vision to become a reality, regardless of whether an individual is currently employed by a youth-serving organization or is interested in exploring a career in education.

Within the workforce sector, DCI connects with organizations and entities to create clear, equitable, and accessible pathways to ECE and OST employment, supports new and existing workforce development programming through grants and technical assistance, and collaborates with partners and providers to understand and communicate the ECE and OST workforce needs around Allegheny County.
