Giving

The Allegheny County Department of Human Services (DHS) provides publicly funded human services for some of the county’s most vulnerable individuals and families using federal, state and local funding. But government funding seldom pays for items or opportunities that are considered optional, supplemental or life-enhancing.

We rely on the generosity of county residents and organizations to help us meet these other needs. These life-enriching items and opportunities often help to bring a sense of normalcy to difficult circumstances.
