Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council

The Area Agency on Aging (AAA) Advisory Council advises the AAA on programs, policies and planning related to services for adults age 60 and older. The Area Agency on Aging (AAA) Advisory Council helps ensure that aging services are equitable, accessible and responsive to the needs of older adults across Allegheny County. It also strengthens communication between the Department of Human Services (DHS), community members and organizations that support older adults and caregivers.
The AAA Advisory Council includes older adults, caregivers, advocates, service providers and professionals connected to the aging network.
The AAA Advisory Council supports DHS by:
- Reviewing four-year plans, annual reports and budget proposals
- Providing feedback on the needs and priorities of older adults
- Supporting outreach and awareness efforts related to aging services
- Identifying service gaps and recommending improvements
- Ensuring programs reflect input from older adults, caregivers and community partners
