Hartwood Acres Park Needs You!

Calling for Tour Guides
If you are interested in becoming one of our volunteers, please call the Mansion at 412-767-9200.

Enjoy an opportunity to be a part of Pittsburgh's past...

Hartwood Acres Park, owned and operated by Allegheny County since 1969, was originally built as an equestrian estate. The Tudor Mansion, stable complex and gate lodge were designed by Alfred Hopkins and built for John and Mary Flinn Lawrence in 1929. The beautiful mansion evokes the elegant lifestyle of the Lawrence family and is a symbol of the changing American culture of the past century.

We are fortunate to have an enthusiastic, active group of volunteers who conduct mansion tours, help decorate the mansion for holidays, assist at our teas, and help with various other projects. We especially rely on our volunteers during the holiday season to conduct the Candlelight Tours. We schedule volunteers according to their availability, so they enjoy the flexibility of matching our schedule with theirs.
