Volunteer and Stewardship

One of the most valuable things visitors to the Allegheny County Parks system can do is to give back by volunteering. The Allegheny County Parks Department works with school districts, businesses, scouts, and anyone else interested in giving back to the parks.

The Allegheny County Park Rangers have a list of volunteer projects ready for any individual or group interested in spending time giving back to our parks.

Volunteer and Stewardship Opportunities

Ranger Led Volunteer Projects

Keep the county parks beautiful by joining Park Rangers in trail maintenance, litter pick-up, and invasive plant removal projects.

Park Stewards Program

Park Stewards are caretaker volunteers who work to restore and protect the park's natural ecosystem. Learn more and apply.
