Drug and Alcohol Planning Council

The Drug and Alcohol Planning Council advises the county executive, the director and staff of the Department of Human Services, and drug and alcohol addiction and counseling service providers. The council communicates with service providers, and educates and informs the public regarding both the provision drug and alcohol services and the activities of the council. Its presence is mandated by the Pennsylvania Drug and Alcohol Abuse Control Act of 1972 and the Pennsylvania State Plan for the Prevention, Treatment and Control of Alcohol and Other Drugs Abuse.
