Periodic Overnight Closures of I-279 to Start on June 15

The Department of Public Works announced today that part of I-279 northbound and southbound in Pittsburgh, Ross, and Ohio Township – along with the interstate’s High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes – will be fully closed overnight periodically starting on Monday, June 15, 2026. The closures, which are expected to end in August 2026, are required to demolish Jacks Run Bridge No. 3.

Allegheny County Announces Andy Warhol Bridge 100th Birthday Bash

As America celebrates its 250th birthday, Allegheny County Sara Innamorato announced the county will mark a unique part of county heritage with the 100th birthday of the Andy Warhol Bridge in Pittsburgh, the oldest of the county’s iconic Sister Bridges.

COURTESY RELEASE: Rachel Carson Bridge to Close for Two Weeks

The Department of Public Works announced today that it has granted a permit to the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and Flyspace Productions to close the Rachel Carson (Ninth Street) Bridge in Pittsburgh for the Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival. The closure will be from 8 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16.

Traveling Glass Recycling

Glass bottles and jars are 100% recyclable and can be recycled for reuse endlessly without losing any quality! The traveling glass bin will be at each location for nearly a month, available daily from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. All colors of glass are accepted; containers must be empty; caps, lids, and labels are okay.

Movies Under the Stars is a delightful outdoor cinema experience where teens and adults can enjoy watching their favorite films on a large screen beneath the beautiful night sky in park settings. Guests are welcome to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and snacks, and make themselves cozy as the sun begins to set.
