PFAs in Firefighting Foam

The Allegheny County Department of Emergency Services (ACES) has been actively working for the past four years to understand, mitigate, and eliminate per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in firefighting foam. These persistent chemicals, widely used in consumer and industrial products, have been linked to potential health risks and environmental contamination.
