Safe Driving Programs
Our driver, passenger and pedestrian safety programs are designed to increase the safety of preschoolers, elementary students, teen drivers, adults and seniors. Presentations are geared to the audience and will entertain as well as inform. We also have programs to teach you safety tips when traveling, and vehicle theft prevention techniques.

How to Schedule a Presentation

Adult Driver Safety

This program explores the steps to follow in order to be a safe driver. It is designed to teach adult drivers the safest driving techniques. Participants are informed of the dangers associated with driving, such as distractions, driving under the influence and reckless driving. Participants are advised of current and new laws affecting their driving, along with driver’s license requirements for adult drivers. We explain the various dangers on the roadways and highways.

Child Passenger Safety

The Allegheny County police have officers on staff are certified child passenger safety technicians. We are able to inform and assist drivers in the proper use and installation of child safety seats.

Pedestrian Safety - Buckle Bear

This program teaches children the safest techniques for walking near the street and crossing the street. Children are instructed on the proper clothing to wear, as well as when and where to walk safely. Various safe walking techniques are discussed in a fun way that will encourage children to think about safety first when walking near public streets.

Seat Belt Safety - Buckle Bear

The Buckle Bear program is used to teach preschool and elementary school-aged children the importance of using their seat belts and riding in a child safety seat. Various safe riding requirements are discussed in a fun way that will encourage children to think about safety first when traveling in a vehicle.

Senior Citizen Driver and Pedestrian Safety

This program discusses safe driver tips for the elderly driver. It is designed to teach senior citizens the safest driving and walking techniques. Participants are informed of the dangers associated with driving, such as distractions, driving under the influence and reckless driving. Participants are advised of current laws affecting their driving along with driver’s license requirements for older drivers. We discuss the impact of their health and diminished abilities, along with reasons for the loss of a license or when to turn in a license. Seniors are also instructed on how drivers and pedestrians can safely coexist on our roadways and walkways.

Teen Driving Safety - Survival 101

This program explores the steps to follow in order to be a safe driver. It is designed to educate future and new drivers on the safest driving techniques. Participants are informed of the dangers associated with driving, such as distractions, driving under the influence, and reckless driving. Participants are advised on current laws affecting their driving, along with driver’s license requirements for new drivers. The Survival 101 program teaches teenaged drivers about the responsibility of safe driving.
