County Reminds Voters of Satellite Voting & Polling Place Changes

Allegheny County officials are reminding voters to make a plan for the May 19, 2026, Primary Election and to verify their polling place ahead of Election Day, particularly as several polling locations have changed in recent weeks.

Lane Closures on Universal Road in Penn Hills to Start on May 20

The Department of Public Works announced today that periodic lane closures on Universal Road between Jefferson Road and Keefer Drive in Penn Hills will start on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. The periodic lane closures are expected to end in August 2026. They are required for milling and paving, base repairs, drainage improvements, curb installation, and more.

County Work on Browns Hill Road in Pittsburgh Ends

The Department of Public Works announced today that the county’s work on Browns Hill Road between Beechwood Boulevard/Hazelwood Avenue and the Homestead Grays Bridge in Pittsburgh and the associated periodic lane closures have ended. The lane closures, which began on August 18, 2025, were required for extensive concrete roadway and joint repairs, drainage improvements, and more.

Marbles Program Tournaments

May 13, 2026

Allegheny County hosts a free annual marble competition series for youth ages 7-14. Previous knowledge and experience is not required. Instructors are onsite to teach how to play and oversee the tournaments.

Traveling Glass Recycling

May 13, 2026

Glass bottles and jars are 100% recyclable and can be recycled for reuse endlessly without losing any quality! The traveling glass bin will be at each location for nearly a month, available daily from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. All colors of glass are accepted; containers must be empty; caps, lids, and labels are okay.

Allegheny County Marbles Championship

May 14, 2026

Tournament winners from the Marbles Program are qualified to compete in the annual Allegheny County Marbles Tournament, for the chance to compete in the National Marbles Tournament in New Jersey.
