Mt. Troy Road Extension in Ross Reopens to Traffic

The Department of Public Works announced today that Mt. Troy Road Extension in Ross has reopened to traffic. The closure, which began on March 9, 2026, was required for construction of a retaining wall and embankment, roadway repairs, and the installation of guide rail and pavement markings.

Portion of I-279 NB, I-279/I-579 HOV Lanes to Close 3 Nights Next Week

The Department of Public Works announced today the schedule for next week’s overnight closures of a portion of I-279 and the I-279/I-579 High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes in Pittsburgh, Ross, and Ohio Township. The closures are necessary to demolish Jacks Run Bridge No. 3, which carries Jacks Run Road over I-279 between Bellevue Road/Bellpark Drive and Kane Lane in Ross.

The Department of Public Works announced today that it has granted a permit to BikePGH to close the Armstrong Tunnel (inbound and outbound) and the Philip Murray (South 10th Street) Bridge in Pittsburgh for OpenStreetsPGH. The closures will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2026.

Traveling Glass Recycling

Glass bottles and jars are 100% recyclable and can be recycled for reuse endlessly without losing any quality! The traveling glass bin will be at each location for nearly a month, available daily from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. All colors of glass are accepted; containers must be empty; caps, lids, and labels are okay.
