Chamberlain Road in Jefferson Hills Reopens to Traffic

The Department of Public Works announced today that Chamberlain Road between Gill Hall Road and Shenandoah Drive in Jefferson Hills has reopened to traffic earlier than expected. The closure, which began on March 10, 2026, was required to replace a culvert named Beams Run Bridge No. 1. The project also included roadway repairs, and the installation of guiderail, signs, and pavement markings.

REMINDER: Lane Closures on Universal Road to Start on Wednesday

The Department of Public Works announced that periodic lane closures on Universal Road between Jefferson Road and Keefer Drive in Penn Hills will start on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. The periodic lane closures are expected to end in August 2026. They are required for milling and paving, base repairs, drainage improvements, curb installation, and more.

Department of Human Services Releases 2026 Community Counts Results

Traveling Glass Recycling

May 21, 2026

Glass bottles and jars are 100% recyclable and can be recycled for reuse endlessly without losing any quality! The traveling glass bin will be at each location for nearly a month, available daily from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. All colors of glass are accepted; containers must be empty; caps, lids, and labels are okay.
