County Executive Innamorato Announces “Forward with Families”

Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato today announced Forward with Families, a new, coordinated initiative to strengthen stability, opportunity, and quality of life for working families across Allegheny County. As part of the initiative, Allegheny County will expand access to childcare and out-of-school time (OST) programs, with a goal of creating 5,000 new slots over the next five years.

Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Vouchers Now Available

The Allegheny County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) announced today that the application window is now open for the 2026 Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP). This program helps income-eligible older adults supplement their diets with locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables by providing $25 in vouchers for use at area farmers markets.

The Department of Public Works announced today that it has granted a permit to P3R to close the David McCullough (16th Street) Bridge in Pittsburgh for the PicksBURGH Draft Day 5K. The closure will be from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

Marbles Program Tournaments

April 30, 2026

Allegheny County hosts a free annual marble competition series for youth ages 7-14. Previous knowledge and experience is not required. Instructors are onsite to teach how to play and oversee the tournaments.

Traveling Glass Recycling

April 30, 2026

Glass bottles and jars are 100% recyclable and can be recycled for reuse endlessly without losing any quality! The traveling glass bin will be at each location for nearly a month, available daily from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. All colors of glass are accepted; containers must be empty; caps, lids, and labels are okay.
