Deed Certification

Certification Review

Deed Certification assigns parcel identification numbers to all deeds immediately at the time of recordation to ensure that every deed recorded will be correctly assessed to the new owner(s) in the assessment system, and that the corresponding property taxes will be forwarded to a verified payer's address.

There is no charge for this service.

Process

Prior to the recording of all deed-related documents, a Certification Clerk reviews the grantors, legal description, and certificate of residence addresses to check their validity against the assessment system. The deed is also reviewed for other possible rejection reasons.

If all are approved, a certification stamp is applied to the document and the deed is ready for recording.
