Crawford Run Road in East Deer Reopens to Traffic

The Department of Public Works announced today that the 400 block of Crawford Run Road in East Deer has reopened to traffic earlier than expected. The closure, which began on June 8, 2026, was required to replace a culvert named Crawford Run Road Bridge No. 3.

Countywide Reassessment to be Completed in Next Five Years

Allegheny County will be hosting a series of festive fall events starting in September in all nine County parks, County Executive Innamorato announced today.

West Nile Virus Spraying

The Allegheny County Health Department will be treating The Hill District, Upper Hill, Polish Hill, Bloomfield, Friendship, Stanton Heights, Morningside, Highland Park, and Homewood for mosquitoes. Positive tests for West Nile Virus were recently found in those areas.

Traveling Glass Recycling

August 18, 2026

Glass bottles and jars are 100% recyclable and can be recycled for reuse endlessly without losing any quality! The traveling glass bin will be at each location for nearly a month, available daily from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. All colors of glass are accepted; containers must be empty; caps, lids, and labels are okay.

Zootopia 2 at North Park

August 20, 2026

Free fun for the family with a surprise winged guest presentation from the National Aviary, followed by the movie Zootopia 2. Remember to bring chairs, blankets, and snacks to enjoy.
