DHS Advisory Boards

Community voices help shape the work of the Allegheny County Department of Human Services (DHS). Through advisory boards and committees, residents, family members, providers, advocates and other partners share ideas, raise concerns and help guide decisions about services, programs and priorities.

Some advisory bodies are required by state or federal regulations and work closely with specific DHS offices to help oversee services and support policy planning. Others are were created by DHS to bring community perspectives into planning, strategy and system improvement efforts.

These groups play an important role in helping DHS better understand community needs, improve services and make more informed decisions.
