Board of Elections Approves Plans for Upcoming November Election

Today the Allegheny County Board of Elections approved plans for the upcoming November general election, including five satellite election offices and twelve ballot drop off locations. The Board also approved a resolution to support Election staff and volunteer organizations to register voters at naturalization ceremonies.

County Offices Closed September 7 in Observance of Labor Day

All Allegheny County offices, including the independently elected offices, the Courts and County Council, will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026, in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Hartwood Acres Mansion also will be closed. All offices and parks facilities will return to regular hours on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

McKeesport Office Ribbon Cutting

Allegheny County today celebrated the completion of renovations to the Allegheny County Health Department’s McKeesport office at 339 Fifth Avenue, creating a more accessible, modern facility where residents can access multiple essential public health services in one location.

Traveling Glass Recycling

September 05, 2026

Glass bottles and jars are 100% recyclable and can be recycled for reuse endlessly without losing any quality! The traveling glass bin will be at each location for nearly a month, available daily from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. All colors of glass are accepted; containers must be empty; caps, lids, and labels are okay.
