Food Safety Resources
The Food Safety Program offers resources to both the consumers at home and to industry members, such as restaurants and other food facilities regarding safe food handling, personal hygiene, and emergency preparedness.
The Food Safety Program’s mission is to prevent foodborne illness in Allegheny County. In collaboration with Infectious Disease Epidemiology, we highlight topics such as safe food handling practices, submitting food-related illness complaints, and data from 2025 including foodborne illness outbreak trends.
